Supporting and celebrating you and your animal companion:
In relationships, health, grief, loss, change, life!
There are very specific, unusual decisions, thoughts, guilts, questions, and mind - body - spirit experiences that are part of grief and loss of our animal companions and even with environmental/eco circumstances.
Safe spaces to be with the loss, explore, heal, ask questions, helps us redefine the unique love we feel. We can even create a ceremony or prayer if that is helpful to you, your family.
From their perspective: clear evidence-based insights on relationships, health, loss, behaviors, changes in routine or other life factors. They can be living or passed, and they will be recognizable to you. It can include medical intuition, diet needs, and other clarifying details. Enjoyable, focused, full of surprises that make sense and are relevant. They don't need to be present in our time.
*not for lost pets
There are many times we are faced with challenges when living with different species! What do they need? Why are they doing that? How can we change this? When is a good time to make a change? And when is the time to make a difficult decision?
There are skills and also, we feel so responsible and sometimes powerless - what we really are asking is: How do I trust my heart?
Let's schedule our time together. 1.5 hours is the average length. It goes by quick and is full of relevant care and info.
If you need a sliding scale or do not see a time available, contact me directly. I know there are timely needs around our love buddies.
If you have recently brought someone home, or are facing difficult decisions, or are struggling with grief, this can be a great option.
This gives you space, time, ongoing support for these transition times - celebrating love, gaining insights, forming next steps.
"Birdi has endless kindness, compassion, patience, and intelligent insights. Her instincts and intuition are clear, helpful. She is calming, uplifting, steady. Exactly what we needed when we were so unsure, frightened, lost. She never told me what to do either. She was very careful to make sure I was in agreement with myself, so that she taught me how to trust myself in a way I had never experienced. I didn't think there was anyone in the world like her. I am ok now. I wasn't. I am now.
My experience with Birdi was profound. She is very special."

We are animals. I have read that over 67% of homes are interspecies inhabitants! We have a lot of relationships that are intertwining.
We are here together, depending on each other, harming and helping each other, loving each other.
This is my way of helping to bridge the brokenness, pain, and confusion into love, healing, and actions. Here, my skills, passions, and awareness, can be put it to use and hopefully ripple out in small and large ways.
Every grain of sand makes the beach. These are my unique grains I can bring to this beach.
May they serve the world well.
I bring my training in compassion resilience, positive psychology, and mindfulness facilitation to everything we do together, as well as my skills in grief, relationships, trauma, and spiritual companionship. I also respect that these words could sound like buzz words - yeh sure, I'll meditate my way through - I assure you that is not what I am offering.
When we are in the throes of burnout, overwhelm, and heart-worn, the sacred weariness is real, as well as the way this impacts our relationships and quality of life. Tender directness mixed with stillness is equally real to find and nourish your vitality well.
This is a path of authentic restoration and care, grounded with a touch of biology and expanded with a pinch of mystic wisdom.
Offered for Veterinarians, End of Life providers, Alternative Health Practitioners, Grief Counselors, Spiritual Directors and Clergy, Trainers, Activists as well as support staff and other un-named Animal Care Practitioners.
My earliest memories are connecting with the birds, domestic animals, wild creatures.
My felt sense of them was strong and also filled with joy, compassion, rest. Caring for them and about them, advocating for and respecting them has always been a part of me, and they seem to like me, too.
It can be calming, healing, blooming for each of us as they allow us into their species spaces.
In my professional experience, I wanted to be able to continue to advocate, connect, and celebrate them. I love to educate and comfort humans who also have a heart for them and have welcomed inter-species living into their lives.
