Why do we hunger for beauty?

Hi. I'm Dr. Birdi Sinclair

This question touches the longing we have from the deep of our Self. It's the place before or beyond words that is there and trying to get our attention, but is often set aside in the hubbub to do more, faster, be more - be enough.

The trouble with living in this demanding hubbub is we lose our self-trust, our sense of belonging, forgetting we ARE enough.

Beauty in nature, music, art, movement, within others and ourselves - is like turning the key to unlock what we feel we're missing - maybe it's belonging, purpose, or understanding. In the moments of beauty, we have a deep rest, even if it's only a moment - it's timeless and important.

When life slows us down in a crossroad, when there are changes we can't breeze by or ignore, relationships are in stress, or wounds are intrusive, we can feel adrift, have trouble making decisions, feel stuck, like no one understands, or unsure how to trust others or ourselves - it's important to remember you're not alone.

These experiences are as universal as time itself.
This is why paintings, Shakespeare, music endures. They connect and remind us.

Here, in this space of embracing soulful pauses,
we will bridge to our home within our Self and in our World.

Beauty, Magic, Awe anchors us to our own connected life force that we all share.
